Physicians
Physicians and patients walk the journey together.
In Taiwan, many doctors are dedicated to promoting cancer treatment and health preservation. The recommended doctors below are not limited to any specific specialty, and cancer patients can consult them. They are listed alphabetically according to their surnames.

2 More and 2 Less Wellness Methods
Dr. Xu Ruiyun
Dr. Zheng Xian'an
The first time I heard the lectures of Dr. Xu and Dr. Zheng, I was introduced to the concept of the energy field, which left a profound impact on me. If we closely observe the structure of our cells, it is not just a molecular arrangement but a combination of frequencies, vibrations, and energy. The connection between the mind and body is intricate; negative thought energy in the brain can transmit to various parts of the body, potentially causing ailments like lung diseases due to the energy of sorrow.
In response, I began reminding myself to maintain positive energy consistently, engaging in various “mind exercises” [refer to their collaborative book: “Mindful Healing: Breaking Through Traditional Chinese and Western Psychotherapy”]. In their clinics, both doctors implement “mind-focused healthcare,” providing comprehensive care considering patients’ psychological factors. Dr. Zheng’s initial consultations, lasting up to an hour, delve into understanding the patient without prescribing medication, showcasing the ability to reverse diseases. Due to the holistic approach in each consultation, their clinics have a waiting time exceeding a year.
Dr. Huang Bingzhong
Dr. Huang Bingzhong is passionately dedicated to promoting introspective Qigong. This form of Qigong emphasizes coordinated breath and forceful movements to strengthen the “mitochondria” in our bodies. Every visit to Dr. Huang’s clinic at Chiayi Chang Gung Hospital is profoundly moving. Despite the clinic being consistently full, Dr. Huang always pays careful attention when I speak. Especially when my condition is not favorable, he earnestly contemplates the most beneficial movements for me.
I recall that after being diagnosed with cancer, my creatinine levels started soaring, and the glomerular filtration rate of my kidneys declined. Online recommendations suggested drinking more water and engaging in aerobic exercises in such situations. Despite diligently following these suggestions for several months, the progress was unclear. However, after incorporating Dr. Huang’s tiptoe exercises, there was a sudden and substantial improvement in my kidney function.
I am grateful for Dr. Huang’s compassionate approach, treating patients’ needs as his mission. Such a dedicated physician is truly rare.
Dr. Liu Boren
Although I haven’t personally visited Dr. Liu Boren’s clinic, I have come across his book on Functional Medicine Cancer Comprehensive Management. In this book, he covers a wide range of aspects related to cancer patients, including diet, nutritional supplements, exercise, and mindfulness. I believe he has invested a considerable amount of time in research in this field. Dr. Liu is a dedicated and sharing physician, providing consultations at both the Taichung Science and Broad Clinic and the Taipei Elite Clinic.
Dr. Tsai Songyan
My first visit to Dr. Tsai in Taichung was truly enlightening. Initially, I expected dietary and exercise adjustments, but it turned into a profound psychological counseling session. Dr. Tsai emphasized that most cancer cases originate from issues within the heart. He then meticulously unraveled the reasons behind my cancer, addressing each psychological aspect. In conclusion, he encouraged me to help others, urging me to elevate my consciousness from the “self” to the “greater self” and ultimately reach the state of “selflessness.” By releasing attachment to personal desires and worries, there is a chance for cancer to heal on its own.
Dr. James Chen
I came across a fascinating example from Dr. James Chen on YouTube, and it left a profound impression on me. He explained that if you transplant the nucleus of a cancer cell into a normal cell, conventional wisdom might suggest that the mutated DNA in the nucleus would turn the normal cell into a cancerous one. However, the reality is quite different. The determining factor for whether a cell becomes cancerous lies in the “mitochondria” within the cell. Therefore, reinforcing the mitochondria emerges as our primary defense against cancer. Dr. James Chen practices in the United States.
Dr. Tsai Chunming
When it comes to lung cancer, many people in Taiwan often think of Dr. Tsai ChunMing. I am also a patient of Dr. Tsai, and what I admire most about him is his “experimental spirit” and “never-give-up attitude.” He goes to great lengths to determine which method is most effective for each patient. Every time an X-ray is taken, he insists on capturing two images (one from the front and one from the side). While most doctors only capture the frontal view, the side view reveals a three-dimensional effect that is often overlooked.
When I found Dr. Tsai, I had already undergone chemotherapy at another hospital for some time, but the lung fluid had not receded. The intensive drainage was stimulating the continuous growth of lung fluid, and eventually, I was struggling to breathe to the point of almost immobility. Dr. Tsai suggested that I stop draining the lung fluid and try another targeted therapy. Miraculously, my lung fluid started to recede slowly, and later I could even take ten thousand steps a day. I am very grateful that Dr. Tsai did not give up on me, and now, every time I can engage in physical activity, I am thankful to him.
