13th Month Update
During this month’s outpatient visit at the beginning of the month, I took the opportunity to review the reports from the CT scan and MRI conducted at the end of last month. To my surprise, the condition of my lungs on the CT scan has improved significantly compared to three months ago. The diffuse lymphatic spread throughout my lungs, resembling a spider’s web, has disappeared entirely, leaving my lungs looking very clean, with only a small tumor remaining in the left lung. Additionally, there has been improvement in the MRI compared to three months ago, with the two small brain tumors appearing very blurry, making them difficult for my doctor to locate. My doctor mentioned that the new targeted therapy drug has been very helpful for me, although it unfortunately cannot penetrate the brain. Luckily, another medication, “Avastin,” can penetrate the brain, resulting in progress in my brain as well. The doctor also pointed out that besides pulmonary edema, the lymphatic spread in the lungs was also a contributing factor to my previous breathlessness.
Furthermore, during the visit, I informed my doctor that last month, I experienced numbness in the entire upper jaw due to poor sleep. The otolaryngologist suggested that it might be a neurological issue since there were no abnormalities found in the endoscopic examination. Upon hearing this, my doctor immediately prescribed a sedative for me to alleviate anxiety, reassuring me that it was non-addictive. I was relieved to hear this, as I have been increasingly anxious due to worsening financial circumstances. Having a sedative to help stabilize my emotions is crucial for me. Seeing these examination results this month has put my mind at ease, as I was worried that the lack of sleep last month might worsen my condition, but it seems I was unnecessarily worrying.
