1st Month Update
Started medical leave for work. In late May, began the first chemotherapy session [Alimta + Carboplatin]. The doctor prescribed steroids beforehand to prevent nausea and also magnesium oxide to prevent constipation. Initially, I only took steroids, but when constipation occurred, I started taking magnesium oxide. Due to the transfer of tumors to the head, my primary physician referred me to the Radiation Oncology department. The radiologist informed me of five small tumors inside my head, with the largest being approximately 0.9 cm. Since they are within the range of five and smaller than 1 cm, there is a 70-80% chance of getting approval for insurance-covered stereotactic radiosurgery. If not approved, there are two options: self-payment of either 100,000 or 200,000 Taiwanese dollars. The doctor will assist with the application, and the hospital will notify me upon approval. Had lung effusion in the left lung, requiring drainage every two weeks, extracting around 800 cc each time. Since being diagnosed with cancer, my left ear has consistently experienced a rustling sensation, similar to tinnitus. Muscular pain and spasms occur intermittently in both legs, determined by the hospital to be non-edematous, but the cause remains unknown.
